Support the BSR Horse Herd and EAL Program

The Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) program at Blue Sky Ranch represents an innovative approach to addressing emotional and behavioral challenges experienced by fatherless teenage boys. Our program provides a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment for participants to interact with horses in specific ways designed to empower young men to develop their self-confidence, trust, and communication skills. Horses, being social animals, can mirror human emotions and behaviors and can thus help participants develop self-awareness and empathy. EAL can facilitate the formation of healthy relationships and promote success in life. Our certified Equine Specialist facilitates the program through a non-judgmental and supportive environment that enables participants to identify their strengths and weaknesses, set goals, and work towards achieving them. The program has been highly effective, as we have witnessed significant improvements in the overall well-being of our young men and a strong bond with the horses. The EAL program at Blue Sky Ranch has the potential to transform the lives of fatherless teenage boys, enabling them to become more resilient, independent, and successful in all facets of life.

Our EAL Program's success depends on the horse herd's care and support, and this requires significant resources to ensure the proper care and maintenance of the horses, including food, shelter, veterinary care, and specialized training. For the last couple of years, the costs associated with running our EAL program have increased significantly. There are 11 horses participating in our EAL program currently. Therefore, fundraising is now essential to ensure the continuity and sustainability of the EAL program at Blue Sky Ranch. It enables the ranch to maintain a high standard of care for the horses. It provides the necessary resources to continue improving the program, creating a lasting impact on the lives of fatherless young men.
