Meet Michael

Michael has been incarcerated for 10 months. He sees his daughter every couple of months, and one of his favorite memories goes back to the day she was born. “I was just overjoyed,” he says.

For him, the Father-Daughter Dance is all about quality time. “It means spending time with my daughter,” Michael explains. Though he doesn’t dance, he’s looking forward to letting her teach him. “Maybe she could show me how,” he says with a smile.

Michael has never worn a suit before, and even that feels meaningful. “Just looking the part, I guess,” he says. “It’ll be special.”
