Baking For Heroes

We are a mother-daughter team who has always loved to bake, and about 11 years ago we began bringing our homemade treats to our local police precinct and firehouse.  On October 6, 2016, an officer from our local precinct, Blake Snyder, was killed in the line of duty.  We grieved with the officers we had come to know and wanted to do something to show our support.  We decided to have a bake sale and donate all the proceeds to Backstoppers.

This year will be our 10^th bake sale and it has grown significantly over the years. What started on our front lawn with earnings of $1,525 has moved to Affton Firehouse #1 with earnings of $11,323.  In total we have earned $48,684 for Backstoppers.  What started as a family event has grown into a team of over 75 volunteers.  Every year we have hundreds of people shop at our sale.
