Help Us Build the Bark at the Ark Barn

Creating a Safe, Enriching Space for Animals and a Stronger Connection to Our Community

Ark Animal Rescue and Adoption is launching an exciting new project to expand our facility and services so we can better serve the animals and community of LaGrange County. The Bark at the Ark Barn will be a dedicated indoor space to host dog “meet-and-greets”, training, enrichment activities, and community programs. This barn-style structure will provide a calm, safe environment that helps animals prepare for adoption and gives potential adopters a more meaningful connection.

Alongside the new barn, Ark will introduce several new initiatives later in the Fall of 2025, including youth programs like Pawsitive Leaders for high schoolers and Jasper’s Reading Buddies, a literacy program where children read to shelter dogs. These efforts aim to build compassion, encourage volunteerism, and promote responsible pet care across all ages.

The project is being completed in two phases:

Phase One: Construction and setup of the Bark at the Ark Barn (Target Completion Date: October 1, 2025)
Phase Two: Launch of new enrichment, training, and community engagement programs (Late Fall of 2025)

Be part of a project that will bring comfort, healing, and connection to the heart of our shelter and the LaGrange County community. Our goal is to raise $46,500 and we are half-way there!!

To date, Ark has received a Community Impact Grant, a generous donation from an Ark Follower in memory of her parents who were long time supporters of Ark, donations from a private fundraiser, and proceeds from the Ark “Garage Sale”.
