Thank you so much for your generous donation to the Food Forest Collective! Your donation is particularly important to our work building and maintaining the Beacon Food Forest as well as collaborating with other groups pursuing resilience through urban food production. We will use your donation to provide administrative support, tools and materials to the hundreds of volunteers who devote thousands of hours each year tending trees, shrubs and vegetables that are open to everyone to harvest in the Beacon Hill neighborhood.
Last year volunteers logged over 3,600 hours on the BFF site as well as several hundred hours of administrative, planning and support work off-site. We grew over 3,700 pounds of fresh, local, organic food for our community, with over 400 pounds donated directly to food banks. We recently established multiple new plots dedicated to land share agreements with BIPOC groups in the Beacon Hill area, which marks an incredibly important transition for us toward tangibly addressing food injustice, environmental racism, and food sovereignty. You can find more up-to-date information about our wide range of volunteer opportunities at the forest on our website at: www.beaconfoodforest.org.
