Our dear Hopi friend, who is also a grandmother, Bernalda, is someone we have built a personal relationship with over the years. She recently received full custody of her two young grandchildren. One of them is on the autism spectrum and is very limited in his ability to speak.

Bernalda’s trailer is in urgent need of repair. Her roof is leaking, her bed recently fell through the floor exposing the dirt below, and her front door no longer seals properly and needs to be replaced.

Justin and I will be heading out there as soon as the funds are raised to make the repairs. We are coordinating a few of our volunteers to meet us onsite, and we are raising $10,000 to cover the costs of materials, replace her broken bed, and install new carpet to help with insulation. Our goal is to give Bernalda and the kids a warm, safe home before winter really sets in. It gets below zero and incredibly windy on top of that mesa.
