Since January 2025, the Rwanda-backed M23 militia group has captured Goma, Bukavu, and Walikale exacting unspeakable violence and terror in Eastern DRC. More than 7,000 people have died and 1.1 million people have been displaced with 21 Million people in urgent need of medical, food, and other aid.

Kivu Care’s goal is to alleviate the psychological and physical distress of people around Goma and to improve resilience through medical assistance for war-wounded civilians, water and food access for widows and single mothers, children’s play therapy, and mental health broadcasting educational programs on local radio.
