Imagine growing up with no books in your home, no library down the street, and not even enough textbooks at school to go around. How would you learn to love reading? How could you get a high-paying job in your future with extremely low literacy? How would you have a personal encounter with God’s Word with no Bibles available?

The Equip Mozambique library, called "Biblioteca Beireano" is strategically located between multiple schools and on the main road that the majority of students take to walk to class. As a result, there have been some days that we’ve run out of places for them to sit! It’s not unusual to have over 200 kids and teens come through every day to read, study, play chess, and grow spiritually and educationally through the books we offer.

Now that our most frequent readers are kids, it has become even more important to expand our children’s section. We have a dismally small collection of Portuguese kids’ books, and we would welcome any and all donations to get more books and continue to help these young people to read their way to a brighter future!

In addition to supplementing operating costs, we are looking to fund the following:

Equipment to print kids books cheaply and locally.
Buy more chairs so more people can use the library at once.
Provide help for several local authors to publish books.
Allow us to hire an assistant librarian so we can keep the library open for more hours.

A monthly donation toward this cause would also be welcome!
