This year in honor of Black History Month, BLACK@ is raising funds to benefit an incredible organization fighting for racial equity and justice -- The Black Star Project of Chicago, IL.

Black History Month is great time to honor and support this organization. In 1976, the United States finally designated Black History Month in February to remember the countless contributions that African Americans have made to our society, celebrate Black history, and acknowledge the ongoing struggle for equality and justice.

For Affirmers, this fight for racial justice has included raising funds to support organizations on the front lines fighting for racial justice. This past summer, Affirmers responded to the killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and countless others by helping to raise and donate over $300,000 to organizations working hard everyday to bend the arc of the moral universe towards justice. Our contributions to Equal Justice Initiative, NAACP SF, Black Star Project, and the Prevention Institute provided important support for the work they do everyday.

As Affirmers, we’re grateful to be part of a company that prioritizes people, employees and customers, and our collective heritage. We hope our fellow Affirmers will answer the call once more and join BLACK@ as we celebrate Black History Month and raise funds for the continuation of these efforts.
