Bricks Need Mortar was founded in April 2020 in an effort to build and lead a coalition of  independent retailers.  In that short time we have assembled a coalition of 600+ Main Street businesses who share valuable information with each other and policy makers.

We are developing more and more ways to distribute urgently needed industry insights, deliver workshops and resources, and provide a hub of support. 

Bricks Need Mortar is operated  by Sarah Shaoul, Jim Hassert, and a  most generous team of advisors, partners, volunteers, sponsors, and DONORS. Our operating budget comes  entirely from those in the community (like you!) who value our work enough to donate. 

Together we will restore our thriving and vibrant retail community.
