Fundraiser for Brightlight orphanage nursery and primary school (Uganda)
Thank you for your interest to support the Brightlight orphanage nursery and primary school in Uganda. This program was established in 2024 with the intention of supporting orphans and vulnerable children. This region has many orphans due to parents being killed when poaching in Murchison Falls National Park, while some have been killed by wildlife such crocodiles while collecting water or doing illegal fishing in the river Nile. Brightlight orphanage nursery and primary school is located in mid-western Uganda, buliisa district (where oil extraction is taking place) 250 meters from the Nile, and also 250 meters to the entrance of Murchison Falls National Park. The program currently takes care of 40 orphans and is run by Manirahari Abraham (founder) and Businge Cathebert (head teacher).
All donations are tax-deductible in the U.S.A., according to standard IRS regulations, as Sahaya International is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Sahaya International uses the Givebutter platform to ensure data security. There are, of course, fees for credit card usage that we bear, and we appreciate any coverage of those fees. Additionally, there is an opportunity to leave a tip for the donation platform, but there is no obligation (you can set that tip to zero). As Sahaya International is 100% volunteer-based, all funds received will be transferred to the school program. For information on Sahaya International, visit www.sahaya.org). Any questions about how to donate or get more involved: contact Sahaya founder Koen Van Rompay at [email protected].
If you prefer to make a donation by check, please make your check payable to "Sahaya International", with note "Brightlight"; please add a note with your email address for a tax receipt. Mail your check to:
