JOIN AND HELP SUPPORT MENTAL HEALTH OF COMEDIANS

BRODYFEST 2024, the fourth annual tribute to comedian Brody Stevens, taking place August 17th and 18th in the Los Angeles area! ENJOY IT! The comedy community mourned the loss of the larger than life Brody Stevens in 2019, and friends of Brody’s started the 818 Walk in honor of his memory for his fans and friends. Four years later, the tribute is still going strong, celebrating Brody, as well as raising awareness for suicide prevention and mental health services from Comedy Gives Back. BELIEVE!

This year, The Brody Stevens Festival of Friendship Walk and first ever comedian vs. comedian softball game, are on Saturday, August 17th in Reseda, starting at 1pm. Interested participants can register here. On Sunday, August 18th, The Comedy Store will once again host a special benefit show, and based on previous years, the lineup will be absolutely incredible. As always, BRODYFEST will directly benefit the mental health programs of Comedy Gives Back, the safety net of the comedy community. PUSH!

Walk Details:

Saturday Aug 17th, 2024 @ 2pm

Registration fee is $40 per participant ($50 day of) , with proceeds directly benefiting Comedy Gives Back. Participants will also receive a special Brody gift bag. The walk itself is 1.5 miles around Reseda Park (18411 Victory Blvd, Reseda, CA 91335 in between pond and baseball field). Believe!

1:00PM - 2:00PM Registration

2:00PM - 4:00PM Walk 1.5 miles (@ Reseda Park 18411 Victory Blvd, Reseda, CA 91335 in between the pond and baseball field) and post-walk rally ceremony with guest speakers, comedians, music, food trucks & Good Times!

Softball Game Details:

Saturday Aug 17th, 2024 @ 5pm

Join us for a star-studded softball game in honor of Brody’s favorite pastime at Reseda park at Dodgers Dreamfield (the little league field behind Brody’s bench) with friends of Brody!

The Comedy Store will be honoring Brody with a special Brody Stevens 818 comedy show on Sunday, August 18th to laugh and raise awareness about mental health and suicide. Yes! Enjoy it!

Financial crisis relief - we help comedians pay their bills with everything from cable bills, to insurance premiums to rent
Mental health therapy - through our partnerships with mental health providers, we help comedians find and pay for therapy. From one of our 2023 Grantees, “Dr. —----- is the f*%#ing best person ever. Chemical dependency treatment - many in our community struggle with addiction. CGB helps find and pay for chemical dependency treatment whether residential or out-patient. Check out Jay Mohr talking about his recovery and CGB: Testimonial Video
COMEDY GIVES BACK HEALTHNET - CGB just launched CGB Healthnet as an alternative to healthcare. It is a smart based app that meets comedians where they are, either on the road or at home. It is not insurance but it is a step in the right direction in supporting comedians’ health and well-being. We are paying for a year of coverage for 100 comedians but the program is available to everyone in the comedy community.

Recently, we added some new programs that support the health & well-being of comedians and the comedy community.

12-Step Recovery meetings at all comedy festivals
On-going weekly in-person 12-Step recovery meeting in Los Angeles
