Alma Xochitl Ramirez is a hardworking and talented young Wixárika (Huichol) woman who is in her final semester of studies to become a teacher. Her family has not had the resources to pay her tuition and she has a debt as she approaches graduation, plus the expenses of completing her degree and teaching exam. She needs to raise $3,500 in order to pay her expenses to become a teacher. After serving as a teacher, her longterm goal is to become the first Indigenous school adminstrator in her home village of La Laguna, in the Western Sierra Madre of México.
