BvB Dallas Mission and History

Founded by sisters determined to make a difference after their father’s battle with Alzheimer’s, BvB unites young professionals in a day of fun, fellowship, and philanthropy to tackle Alzheimer’s for good.

Brought to Dallas in 2008 by Erin Finegold White, inspired by her grandparents’ journey through Alzheimer's, BvB has become a powerhouse both on and off the field. Each year the organization hosts a variety of fundraising, educational, volunteer, and fun events for Dallas philanthropists to help eradicate this grave disease, culminating in its flagship event – a flag-football game between the Team Blitz & Team Blue.

The 16-year rivalry and fellowship between the Team Blitz & Team Blue culminates on the football field in an epic showdown for our flagship fundraiser. The game signifies a summer of hard work to TACKLE ALZHEIMER’S ^® the 6th leading cause of death in the United States and the only disease among the top 10 that cannot be prevented or cured.

For the past ten weeks, more than 200 participants have raised both awareness about the disease and funds for research among their personal networks. By game day, we hope to secure our $300,000 goal to award grants to four local organizations researching and treating Alzheimer’s Disease.

Every year since 2008, BvB Dallas has set ambitious goals to grow awareness, funds and hope for those facing the disease. Over 2,500 young people have contributed to the success by personally raising and average of $2,400 each year. Thanks to the passion and dedication of its volunteers, the organization has persevered in the most challenging of times. Using their voices and connections for good, participants have volunteered, fundraised and educated friends, family, coworkers and the community about the need for research and scientific advancements in the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s.
