Hello! I'm Alex, and I'm Apogee's executive editor. I've been working with Apogee since our very first issue, in 2012. It's the honor of my life to have helped produce 19 issues and to be a part of a community of some of the most principled and thoughtful working artists I've met--folks who I'm proud to call my friends.
I’m especially proud of the work we’ve done this year with our new solidarity series, where we’ve featured powerful voices from the Palestinian diaspora. It’s been an honor to curate and uplift pieces like Mandy Shunnurah's "ekphrastic under a bombed-out sky" and Summer Farah's "AFTER WE WATCH ROAD FOOD I CONSIDER PLACE.” I also got to write this year’s letter from the editor for Issue 19, which gave me a chance to sit with the stunning, vital work our contributors are doing.
