Membership Fee

Purpose

The White Oak Wind Orchestra may require membership fees to maintain the high quality of its performances, cover operational expenses, and provide enriching opportunities for its members. This section outlines the expectations for membership fees, the benefits of membership, and related policies.

1. Fee Exemptions - Students, defined as individuals currently enrolled in high school or college, and/or members under the age of 18, shall be exempt from paying membership fees.

The exemption policy is intended to support the growth and development of aspiring musicians.

2. Fee Waivers and Reductions - The Board of Directors shall ensure that no member is excluded from participation due to financial hardship.

Members may apply for a fee waiver or reduction through a simple, confidential process with the treasurer.

Waiver or reduction requests shall be reviewed and determined by the Board based on demonstrated need.

3. Unpaid Fees - If member fees are delinquent, members will receive a reminder through Slack and email.

Continued non-payment may lead to further actions as determined by the board of directors.

Timely payments are necessary for membership in good standing, and participation in orchestra activities.
