Paws Together for Apollo and Kenzie

Update on Apollo... He's had a rough time since coming into rescue, but his medical foster just discovered his comical obsession - pizza rolls! Instead of lounging in bed all day, he's suddenly spry and ready for action at the mere scent of pizza rolls. When given a small portion, he wolfed it down like he was starving, and since then, he's started chowing down on his wet food like a champ and seems to have a bit more oomph. Coincidence or is he secretly Garfield's direct descendant?

He now can wait 2 hours between meals, is getting quite spunky and talking! Apollo is a born FIGHTER.

We're doing everything we can for both kittens, including comfort measures just in case. Apollo and Kenzie still haven't received any donations, so consider tossing them a few bucks- maybe with the cash you saved by cooking dinner instead of ordering in? Every little bit helps, and these two need all the help they can get.

When we talk about rescue being a commitment to love, we truly believe it encompasses all animals in need—not just dogs or cats. If there’s a creature out there that requires assistance, we will step in however we can, whether that means providing transport or connecting with other rescues to make a difference.

Recently, in early December, we were approached to help some cats who lost their owner. Early Friday morning, we brought two delicate but charming kittens into our care. They have found solace with a medical foster family who is diligently feeding and checking on them around the clock.

Although they appear younger, our veterinarian has determined that these resilient little ones are about six months old and have already lost their baby teeth. Unfortunately, they were extremely malnourished, infested with fleas, struggling with worms, and our brave boy, Apollo, is partially blind. Just a few days ago, he was unable to meow at all.

There’s a spark of hope—Kenzie, the darker orange female, has begun using the litter box, and Apollo is making brave attempts to sit up.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters and partners their initial veterinary care was covered, and we are actively applying for grants to assist further with their needs. Yet, the journey doesn’t stop here; we are committed to helping these kittens and the other cats from the same home.

While we know many of you are enjoying this snow day with your loved ones, we humbly ask that if you can spare even $5, it can significantly impact Kenzie and Apollo’s lives. Together, we can pave the way for a brighter future for these adorable kittens. Let’s join forces and give them the loving lives they deserve. Thank you for your support!
