As you may have heard, we didn’t quite meet our $70K goal, raising $60K instead. While $10K is a significant gap for a nonprofit of our size, I’m not worried—and I’d like to explain why.In the past, our Spring Drive was always the “big one”—it consistently outperformed our Fall Drive. However, over the last year or so, we’ve seen that dynamic shift. When I looked at this year’s membership revenue, I didn’t fully track that change, and, admittedly, I defaulted to our usual goal of $70K.

As the drive drew to a close, it became clear we weren’t going to hit that target. That’s when Keegan (our Membership Director) and I took a closer look at the numbers, and we were able to pinpoint the year-over-year shifts.What’s also different this year is the immediate need for funds. In the past, we often had to rely on the pledge drive to pay our bills right away. But thanks to you and all our generous supporters, we’re in a much stronger position today.

We actually have a contingency fund, which is earning interest and helping us plan for the future with more stability. It’s clear that our community—both locally and beyond—believes in the value of community radio and KMUN. Your ongoing support is what allows us to continue the mission, year after year.
