The Chairmen's Emergency Scholarship supports hundreds of students across Big Shoulders Fund’s network of schools who have been impacted by trauma and unforeseen circumstances. The scholarship provides a lifeline to families experiencing a crisis, such as the loss of a home, loss of a job, or loss of a parent, so that children can continue to receive a values-based education at their chosen school.

The Chairmen's Advisory Council (CAC) is comprised of 150 professionals who help support Big Shoulders Fund's 72 schools and 20,000 students through volunteering, building mission awareness, helping drive strategic initiatives, and raising critical funds.

This school year the Chairmen’s Emergency Scholarship provided support to more than 250 students, including Philip, a fifth grade student at a Big Shoulders Fund school.

Philip and his family lost their home and all belongings in a fire. The Chairmen’s Emergency Scholarship provided the tuition assistance Philip’s dad needed to keep him enrolled at the school. Big Shoulders Fund was also able to provide them with household items for them to begin rebuilding their lives as well as counseling services.
