Help Chicago Artist Guide build an online platform that will connect theatres with artists and help them diversify their casting and hiring.

Theater artists face many barriers - physical and economic - in the pursuit of their passion. And, while the Chicago theater is very communal, it tends to be insular and closed. Chicago Artist Guide intends to change this.

By developing an online casting and hiring platform, we can connect theater companies to a more diverse set of artists, designers, and technicians. We also can aid in the formation of new theater companies led by new and diverse voices.

In order to launch the first version of our platform in 2023, we must raise $10,000 by then end of this year!

Your donation will help us complete the following milestones:

Profile creation for theatre companies to share their work
Show creation for theatre companies to post jobs
Launch the matching engine for artists to connect to jobs that are personalized for them
Fix any bugs and add additional features, such as messaging

So far we have completed:

Individual user testing
Group demos and feedback sessions
Launched individual artist profile creation
User interface design for the entire platform
Backend structure and foundational components to complete the rest of the platform

Our dream is to enable the Chicago theater community to tell a broader range of stories, cast roles with similarly-identifying actors, and ultimately, integrate more people into the magical world of live theater. Your support will help this dream become a reality!
