Sapphic Empowerment was created to address a gap that too often goes unseen: sapphic people deserve spaces, resources, and visibility that reflect the fullness of who we are.

Across our communities, sapphic individuals—particularly femmes, gender-expansive people, and those navigating multiple marginalized identities—are underrepresented, underfunded, and underserved. Too often, our stories are erased, our contributions overlooked, and our needs deprioritized.

Sapphic Empowerment exists to change that.

🌱 Why We’re Launching This Fund

The Founding Community Fund supports the first year of building Sapphic Empowerment as a sustainable, community-rooted nonprofit. This fund allows us to move intentionally—centering listening, care, and visibility—while laying the groundwork for long-term impact.

Rather than rushing into programs, we are committed to building with our community, not just for it.

This fund helps us:

• Establish the organizational infrastructure needed to operate responsibly and transparently

• Launch community-centered programming focused on connection, visibility, and empowerment

• Create opportunities for sapphic creatives, leaders, and advocates to be supported and seen

• Ensure accessibility, inclusion, and care are built into everything we do

  Events and conversations that center sapphic voices and lived experiences, helping shape programs that reflect real needs.

• Program Development & Seed Funding
  Including early work around initiatives like the Smooth Sexton Sapphic Drag Fund and other future community-led programs.

• Operational & Administrative Foundations
  Tools, platforms, insurance, compliance, and systems that allow us to operate ethically, sustainably, and effectively as a nonprofit organization.
