Why am I fundraising?
I am fundraising to help PAR build a new dock. A dock that will enhance access for both our members and the community. A dock that not only allows access by boats but one that incorporates a sensory garden and will highlight the beauty of our location on the Schuylkill River.
Why I volunteer?
For the past 43 years I have volunteered with PAR and trained thousands of new rowers and volunteers to enjoy the beauty of rowing and the sport of sculling. And to learn about adapting what we do so that all can enjoy.
Philadelphia Adapted Rowing PAR) is a regional gem and tremendous asset to the city of Philadelphia. PAR was the first adapted rowing program in the United States, and only the third such program worldwide. Since 1980 PAR has provided competitive and recreational rowing opportunities for persons with diverse abilities and adaptation needs. in 1993, PAR became a founding member of Pennsylvania Center for Adapted Sports (PCAS).
Whether you want to row recreationally or in competition, or wish to volunteer, PAR is a welcoming organization, and a place where you can meet some of the greatest people in the city, and you can learn to row, train, and have fun.
Contact PAR via our website, www.centeronline.com, and note that Lynn invited you reach out to learn more about rowing and other programs. I hope you will join us as a volunteer and / or sponsor. I welcome you to join me and for you to see first hand why this program is important to our community.
