I’ve been involved with Chicago Fair Trade since its inception in 2006, when I talked on the radio with OXFAM about their report called “Make Trade Fair”. It was a great campaign. To boost regional fair trade efforts, OXFAM provided the seed money for Chicago Fair Trade. It was visionary to start a Chicago organization that advocates for ethical commerce. CFT really lives its “Educate, Activate, Celebrate” mission. It’s in schools and Universities. The world’s first Fair Trade Museum just opened in Uptown! There’s clothes swaps. The holiday pop up shop. It feels great to be on the board and push positive change in our economic system. CFT runs on grassroots support. I’m trying to raise $3000 during the flash fundraiser. Can you chip in to support the only organization in Chicago devoted to pushing back against exploitative economic practices?
