Clayco’s employees are taking on Mt Democrat to raise money and awareness for kids battling life-threatening illness. 100% of all funds will go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

SUMMIT DAY CHALLENGE:

Mt Democrat is an iconic 14er right outside of Breckenridge. This challenging climb will be our Summit Day push as we raise money for kids’ health!

Entry Fee: $100 ( Travel to and from the trailheads, gear, food, and hotel not included)

9/29: 7:00 am start. 3-5 hrs for Mt Democrat round trip.

What's Included

Not Included

Travel to and from the trail heads
Clothing, gear, water, etc.
Food and snacks.
Personal expenses on emergency evacuation and medical care.
Personal First aid kit, we highly recommend getting a prescription from your doctor for some medication for high altitude illness.

20L Day pack, sling, or large fanny pack
3L+ of water (bring the amount you are comfortable with).
Hiking boots or hiking shoes
Synthetic quick-drying hiking clothes and socks
Hat, bandana, sunshirt, or neck gaiter to protect from the sun.

Lip balm with 50spf
Rain jacket
Trekking poles

It all started when Foundation founder Ryan Kelley decided to channel his new found passion for the outdoors into something greater, and he began asking friends to climb mountains to raise money and awareness for a boy battling cancer named Alec.

In 2015, Ryan and April McCoy, Foundation Treasurer, climbed Mt. Rainier. They raised $14,000 for Friends of Kids With Cancer. We’ve been expanding our goals every year since. Eight years later, we have summitted mountains each year and invite you to join us for the biggest yet!
