WHO WE ARE: Cherry Hill East Robotics Boosters a.k.a. CHE Robotics Boosters is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our purpose is to assist the Cherry Hill High School East Robotics Program a.k.a. East Robotics through fundraising and volunteer opportunities.

EAST ROBOTICS HISTORY: East Robotics was founded in September 2010 by two former students, Aaron Sirken and Brendon Rush. They built a Vex Robot as a Research and Science Project in 2009 and competed at the Vex Robotics World Championship, that same year in Texas. Their passion for robotics led to the creation of the East Robotics program in 2010 starting with 3 teams. We have been a student-run program with an adult Advisor, since its inception.

OUR PROGRAM: Each year we accommodate 50 - 75 participants, and most choose to be part of a team. Teams and individual participants operate on a beginner, developing, or advanced level. Students meet after school to design, build, and program robots to compete in Vex Robotics competitions. They are encouraged to tap into many skills (i.e., critical thinking, complex problem solving, research, networking, technical writing, marketing, team building, and management). We foster a respectful, collaborative, and fun environment among our students.

REQUIREMENTS/ NEEDS: Each year Vex Robotics releases a new engineering game challenge. As a result, we incur many costs associated with competing, such as but not limited to:

The purchase of parts, components, elements, and fields to comply with new gaming and robot requirements.
The purchase of team marketing materials, (i.e., banners, business cards, spirit wear, and promotional items) to exchange, network, and build goodwill with teams from other programs.

HELP KEEP OUR PROGRAM A SUCCESS: To keep our program successful and competitive, we encourage parents, students, alumni, family, friends, and the community at large to collaborate with us through volunteering, membership, donation, and sponsorship.

A TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE: We are the premier and the most successful Vex Robotics program in the State of New Jersey. There are 125 teams in the state and that number grows every year. The 50 best teams will compete in the State Championship on March 4, 2023.

Vex Robotics is a global organization and the largest robotics competition in the world for Elementary, Middle, High School and College. Tournaments are held year-round at the regional, state, and national levels, leading to the Vex Robotics World Championship held in late Spring of each year. In 2022, 850 teams from 49 states and 36 countries competed in Vex Robotics World Championship. The 2023 Championship will be held in Dallas, TX, April 25 - May 2, 2023, where another 850 or more teams are expected to compete.

Based on awards, ranking, and scores achieved in tournament matches and robot skills challenges, teams will qualify or receive an invitation to compete in their home state, regional, and ultimately the Vex Robotics World Championship.

We have eight competitive teams of which 7 have qualified to compete in the Vex 2023 NJ State Championship. Each team carries a Robot Skills rank. Two of our teams consistently rank in the top 3 in New Jersey, one in the top 10 and the other teams are ranked in the top 20.
