Our CJ story began in 2016. Jon and I moved to Beavercreek, Ohio from out of state because of his career. We moved away from our families and friends, so we were looking for a supportive, welcoming community. We chose Chaminade Julienne because Sarah ('20) and Nick (’22) found the school to be a comfortable environment and because CJ’s values and strong faith community were very similar to our family values. 

While Sarah was at CJ, she was very involved in the performing arts and gained so much from the performing arts faculty, specifically Mrs. Bennett and Mrs. Schutt. Sarah is currently at college majoring in Music Education, in part because of the mentoring she received at CJ.

Nick has enjoyed learning from faculty such as Mr. Ricuitto, Mr. Jim Sparrow, and Mrs. Marshall. The course offerings and the faculty have made a significant impact by giving challenging coursework and providing opportunities for an engaging discussion. Also, CJ has afforded Nick opportunities in playing basketball, serving as co-chair of the Student Development Committee, attending faith retreats, doing service throughout the Dayton community, and building strong friendships. 

Because of CJ, our children have become lifelong learners and contributing members of society.

As parents, we have enjoyed volunteering and Shelly has served as a member of the Parents of Performing Arts Students and serves as secretary of the Blue & Green Parent Club. We feel so blessed our family has joined the CJ family.
