PLANS for Psychology Fund
Psicólogos Latinos Avanzando Nuestros Servicios (PLANS) was founded in 2020 to address the underrepresentation of Latinos in Clinical and Counseling Psychology doctoral programs. Currently, only 6% of psychologists in the United States are Latino and 5% of all psychologists provide services in Spanish. Our mission is to support the growth and success of Latino undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students pursuing careers as future clinical and counseling psychologists.
PLANS provides Latino undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students with mentorship, networking, and resources that help them gain admissions into psychology doctoral programs. We aim to increase representation of Latinos in the next generation of psychologists and help bridge the gap in culturally competent and bilingual mental health services for our communities.
Our milestones include:
- 27 members accepted offers into Clinical or Counseling Psychology doctoral programs
-
117 PLANS student members matched with mentors
-
40 PLANS mentors
Now as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we want to become a thriving community of Latino mentors and students with a shared passion for Clinical and Counseling Psychology. With your help, we can continue to grow and increase our impact across the United States. Every contribution helps us move forward with our mission.
