It should be no surprise that holidays are tough for caregivers of medically complex children. Not only are the day-to-day treatments and routines thrown off for the children, causing extra stress and chaos for everyone - but for some - the holidays just don't look like everyone elses.

Medical treatments don't stop. Hospital stays do not get "holiday off". The disease progression is visible even on Christmas Day.

This holiday season, the team at The Apricity Hope Project is inviting you to help us show our support and be the light for caregivers during an often, incredibly tough time of the year.

Please join us by participating in our Apricity Advent Calendar!

To participate, please email hello@apricityhope.org to have your personal fundraising page created and to tell us how many calendars you want to fill! Each calendar you fill, you will receive a gift! (You can also have your friends and family fill calendars for you too!)
We will send you a link with your digital advent calendars. You can either print them and hand write names on it OR use canva and type the names.
You will then receive a link to create your fundraising page. Don't worry - we will send all the verbage and images for you to make your life as easy as possible! Supporters can pay AHP directly through that link OR you can personally collect money via venmo/paypal/cash and then pay AHP in one lump payment.
Instructions for your supporters are on the calendar that you will be sharing on social or in-person.
We will also provide you with sample social media posts to share with your advent calendars.

Who is the Apricity Hope Project?

We are a nonprofit based in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia that cares for caregivers of medically complex and disabled children. Our founder, Susan Geoghegan, is a medical mama to two amazing humans that battle / have battled mitochondrial disease. Susan's goal is to take a dark situation and bring light to her community of medical mamas, advocating dadas and the other primary caregivers of kids who are facing health complexities and hospital stays.

AHP offers seasonal care(giver) packages that are sent across the USA and hospital go-bags for caregivers with partnering hospitals and organizations. The When Autumn Comes Podcast has released 90+ episodes sharing stories of hope and light, connecting caregivers across the world. Our beautiful, hot pink hideaway hosts meetups and restorative retreats for mamas who typically live lives of hypervilance and never do anything for themselves. And to continue the work that the Geoghegan family has done for years, AHP continues to donate funds to mitochondrial disease research.
