Bend Senior High Schools alpine ski racing team started in 1937. The Bend Senior High Lava Bears began training and racing with the newly formed Caldera Senior High School Wolfpack in 2021. In 2023 alpine skiing was cut from local Bend Oregon Senior High School athletic programs. In 2025 The Bend Senior High Lave Bears won the team Oregon State High School Alpine Ski Championship for the first time since 2008. Without the success of fund raising and generous donations this long tradition of Oregon High School Alpine Ski Racing would not be possible.
