CRRC knew that we couldn’t let 2020 stop us; we adapted. Our members were equipped with ergs at home to train and we implemented socially-distanced 1xs rowing, as well as a “double bubble,” in which our athletes could row exclusively with one other person for the year, under our COVID procedures. Our club banded together to get the equipment necessary for our members to get on the water. The CRRC community was able to have a very successful season of rowing, participating in virtual and remote competitions, including winning two virtual national championships - the first in Camp Randall history! The hard work and dedication of our team has helped us through this otherwise difficult time.
Your support of CRRC during our 2021 Erg-a-Thon campaign, would mean a lot because, financially, these funds have allowed the club to maintain our fleet of rowing shells, oars, rowing machines, and the other equipment necessary for practice and competition. Our goal this year is to raise at least $30,000 towards equipment upkeep, which will give us a competitive edge, but also keep us safe on the water. That number may seem like a big goal, but we really believe we can make it; any donation counts.
