Counterstream was founded in 2021 (formerly known as People over Plastic) with a pointed vision: feature the stories of people most heavily impacted by plastic pollution, climate change, and environmental injustice. Four years later, we’re keeping on with that mission. Our work is and will always be rooted in frontline storytelling. Because we know that frontline communities are the climate movement’s best analysts and leaders.
