I proudly tell anyone who asks that I was born and raised in Hartford, CT and attended Hartford Public Schools. The love I have for my home city allows me to understand first-hand the challenges children face in an educational system often pushed to capacity. Our students, parents, and teachers are nothing short of amazing given the systemic inequities that exist, and organizations like ConnectiKids are critical partners to provide support when schools and families are stretched thin.
I am honored to have spent over 20 years at ConnectiKids, wearing many different hats along the way, striving to encourage children in all that they do and want to be in life. It both humbles and inspires me to see how our staff and volunteers share so much with the community - time, effort, resources, information, you name it - giving their all to make sure these FREE programs continue to be available for our students.
- Tutors to help with homework and promote literacy when time, resources, and space might be limited at home
- Caring mentors to stimulate inquisitive minds with insightful discussions, educational games, and exploration of future goals
- An enrichment program with opportunities for self expression through local artists and exposure to fields our youth are often excluded from
- An awesome summer program keeping students engaged throughout the out-of-school months
Please join with me in an effort to raise funds for this incredibly special place doing great things for Hartford's youth and making a difference that will last them a lifetime!
