There are many BLM and domestic burros who find themselves in sale and sale barn situations through no fault of their own. In bringing these burros to Burro Base Camp, the following costs are incurred in providing the care and rehab needed to prepare them to move to the homes and lives they deserve.

Purchase fee $350-$750/burro

Health Certificates if traveling from outside of Colorado $45/burro

Feed/Water on Sale Lot until transport is available $11/burro/day

Transportation $1200-$3750/load

The need for funds continues upon their arrival at Burro Base Camp

Hay/Feed - $2/day/donkey

Vaccinations - $100/donkey

Microchips - $35/donkey (if needed)

Farrier care - $60/donkey

All daily care, training, and socialization is provided 100% by volunteers.
