Since 2004 Community Works CDC (CWCDC) has served youth, adults and seniors in one of our city’s most under-resourced communities - Northeast Houston. Youth development, workforce development, entrepreneurship training and affordable housing support comprise the programs we have offered which are transforming lives. Currently, we have a specific need for financial support of our youth programs, staffing and general operations. Your generous gift empowers Community Works to accomplish the following goals:

Youth Development: After School program re-launching in January 2024 empowers 60+ Northeast Houston at-risk youth with academic support, life skills, enrichment and a hot meal. We assist the failies of our youth with support services. CWCDC will also equip 25 high schoolers with skills in Podcasting, Audio, Video and Disc Jockey training with an emphasis on monetizing these skills as a small business.
Workforce & Entrepreneurship Development: Recruits, trains and launches 75+ workers and entrepreneurs from our community into the top demand occupations and into proven successful business practices.
Staffing & General Operations: Sustain 2 part-time Community Health Worker positions who currently navigate community members through assessment, support services and community resources. We also aim to support CWCDC general operations.
