The Center for Great Apes is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) sanctuary dedicated to providing a permanent sanctuary for orangutans and chimpanzees who have been retired from the entertainment industry, from research, or who are no longer wanted as pets. The Center provides care with dignity in a safe, healthy and enriching environment for great apes in need of lifetime care. While the Center for Great Apes is not open to the public, we do offer tours under special circumstances and for educational purposes. Therefore, we are sure you will understand that all tours are subject to certain parameters.
