As many of you know, our campus ministry recently moved out of our home of 25 years. While we were saddened to leave the space on University Ave that holds so many cherished memories, we've embraced this time of transition with hope that in the not-too-distant future we will have a new space to call our permanent home.

In the mean time, our friends at St. Andrew's have generously offered the use of the former chapel as a new meeting space for the Canterbury Center. The task before us now is to create a space that will serve the needs of our students, not just while we are gathering officially, but also in those important in-between moments. Between classes. In the evening (or morning.) Our space will become a place to study, meet with friends, chat with the chaplain, work on a puzzle, or spend some quiet time in prayer and reflection. A space we can call our own, designed to fit our needs and our mission.

To that end we are launching this campaign to raise funds for new furniture (a dining table, 2 couches, a nesting coffee table, and two swivel chairs) that will enable us to offer an all-day place of comfort, welcome, and fellowship. Not only will this transform our space now, it will travel with us when we find a permanent home. This campaign is a down payment toward our future, a continuation of the good and holy work of shared fellowship, nourishment, spiritual growth, prayer and intentional hospitality.

Most excitingly, in a first for our ministry, we have received a generous offer from a donor in the form of a challenge grant. If we raise $5000, they will match $5000. This will cover not only the cost of all the furniture, but also lamps, floor cushions and other accessories to complete our space.

We are profoundly grateful for your support and cannot wait to share our new space with our students, our friends, and our supporters this coming semester.
