As many of you know, I have a strong passion for helping student athletes achieve their best self physically and emotionally. Sometimes, injuries occurs that change the dynamics of how we view ourselves once we loose that constant in our life.
This past year I have partnered with Sidelined USA to help support this cause. Sidelined USA inspires permanently-sidelined athletes to face the obstacle imposed on them, adapt, and overcome. Additionally, their team engages in original research, education, and advocacy initiatives to raise awareness for improved after-care of medically disqualified athletes.
One way in supporting these athletes is by sending out care packages to qualifying athletes. The purpose of these care packages is to (1) helping medically disqualified athletes feel seen and understood and (2) providing them with tangible resources from those who have been there themselves. These packages cost $55 and last year alone they sent out 125 packages to different athletes.
This year they are aiming to send out 200! But they can't do it with out our support. I have a goal of raising enough to support funding at least 10 packages. Please help me reach my goal by donating what you can and support athletes who enter this new and probably uncomfortable chapter of their lives.
Thank you!
