The ongoing government shutdown and the lingering uncertainty about the distribution of November SNAP benefits poses an immediate and serious threat to thousands of older adults with complex health needs across our community.
At CenterLight, more than 3,000 of our 6,000+ PACE participants—nearly half our membership—rely on SNAP benefits for their daily meals. Many live alone or lack family members who can help bridge the gap when benefits are interrupted.
That’s why we’ve launched Care in Every Package, a special initiative of the CenterLight Impact Fund to provide emergency shelf-stable care packages for those most affected. Each package includes a week’s worth of nutritious food essentials, at a cost of approximately $25 per participant per week.
We’re reaching out to our trusted corporate partners—organizations that have long shared our mission of care and community—to ask for your help:
- Sponsor care packages: $25 covers one week of meals for a participant; $250 supports ten participants, $2,500 supports one hundred.
- Spread the word: share the campaign link with your employees, customers, or networks. If you would like to set up a campaign for your employees to give, we can help.
Every package you help provide is tangible proof of the compassion and partnership that make CenterLight strong, even in times of crisis.
