A small gift to hopefully make the same type of impact that The Girl Who Wore Freedom had on me and so many others.

I first learned of the remarkable team who produced "The Girl Who Wore Freedom" even before the film was officially launched. Having grown up surrounded by World War II Veterans I was (and remain) on a similar mission: to research, write about, and share the stories of this who have put their lives on the line to protect us all, and to preserve freedom and democracy. History is written one story at a time. Every stories deserves to be told. Here is the short version of one of them:
My cousin, Richie Bartels, gave his life when LST 523 hit a German mine off Omaha Beach on June 19, 1944, its fourth round trip since D-Day shuttling men and supplies to the beaches of Normandy and the wounded back to England. He was 18 years old.
