Chalena E., an associate at the Home2 Suites, Fayetteville, NC, lost her son, Vashawn Williams, Jr., on October 2, 2024. Vashawn’s life was cut short in an accident involving a log truck where he was tragically impaled by a falling log. Even in that harrowing moment, he showed remarkable courage, helping his passenger escape the vehicle and reassuring him that everything would be okay.

Just 23 years old, Vashawn was a devoted member of the United States Army Reserves. He leaves behind his fiancée and their unborn son, Braxton, who is due to be born on December 6, 2024. Everyone who knew him will remember him not only as a soldier, but also a loving partner and friend who was selfless and kind.
