Charles Allen Pass Through

Charles is a bright, cheerful, and enthusiastic 9-year-old who will turn 10 this October. He’s the youngest of three siblings and was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) on September 26, 2024.

Since then, Charles and his mom, Melissa, have spent much of their time in Tennessee, where he bravely took part in a clinical trial at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. While he faced that experience with incredible strength, the trial was unfortunately not successful.

Now back home, Charles has completed another round of chemotherapy. His care team is waiting for his counts to recover so they can test his bone marrow. Everyone is hoping and praying the results will allow him to qualify for a new clinical trial — and a new chance in his fight against AML.

Charles has already been through more than most of us can imagine, and yet his sweet spirit continues to shine. 💛

If you’d like to help support Charles and his family during this difficult time, Monroe County House of Neighborly Service (HNS) has set up a Pass-Thru account for donations. Every dollar goes directly to the family to help ease the burden as they focus on what matters most — Charles’s healing.
