Chevy's Fund, Street Paws Community Outreach Program
We created this program to help citizens in need of emergency care with their pets in memory of Chevy, a pit bull who was brought to us for help, severely emaciated and sick with parvo. After being rushed to the vet, they turned him away due to the parvo and only sent them home with fluids and refused to hospitalize him. We were a new rescue and did not have the funds to send him to an emergency clinic and he sadly passed away. Since then, we have tried to fundraise for this program to continue to help others. If you would like to please donate to help others. Please type “Chevy’s Fund” in the comment section.
Donations to Chevy's Fund will provide life-saving care to an animal who might otherwise suffer or be destroyed needlessly. It is our hope that this initiative will have a positive impact on our community members who love their pets and want the best for them but lack the resources needed for emergency veterinary care. We also provide pet food and basic veterinary care to help keep pets with their owners and keep them from having to make the choice to give up their companion.
Help us help our neighbors in need. Chevy's Fund is dedicated to ensuring that no pet has to suffer needlessly or be euthanized simply because its caretaker is financially challenged. Chevy's Fund was established to help community members with urgent veterinary expenses for their pets, with the goal of keeping the pet home, healthy, and happy (and out of the shelter or worse).
Thus fund may be used by low-income Georgia residents without resources to care for their pet's emergency injury or sudden illness, provided there is a high chance of successful outcome.
We can only assist the community as funds are available.
