West Denver Endocrinology opened in February 2018.  I conceived the clinic as a way to bring much needed outpatient endocrinology care to an underserved patient population.  

The clinic started out as a bare bones micropractice clinic with no employees and only Dr. Rieniets operating the clinic and providing all services.  It was not long before the volume of work became overwhelming and patient demand outstripped what a lone endocrinologist could provide.   In mid-2022, Dr. Rieniets hired employees to assist.  The clinic is currently comprised of Dr. Rieniets, NP Danielle Williams, MA Tiffany Williams, and Abigail Durbin.

Unfortunately, revenue did not increase commensurate with what was required to pay employees.  The practice has been at or near a point of insolvency since late 2022.  Only a fraction of submitted charges are paid, insurance companies consistently reimburse less than the cost of care, patients leave deductibles and other fees unpaid or deprive the clinic of income by "no-showing" for appointments, or expecting free services such as unpaid appointments, emails, telephone calls or other charity.  Delinquent accounts, unrealistic expectations regarding free services, and charity burden is skyrocketing.  To cover overhead and charity costs not covered by revenue, I have gone without pay since mid-2022, exhausted my savings, and utilized loans and credit cards.  This is totally unsustainable.  Cash is desperately needed to avoid bankruptcy or clinic closure.  Please help.   

Consider giving an anonymous gift in any amount.  Your charity to West Denver Endocrinology will sustain the practice and may even pay care costs for a less fortunate patient.   If you cannot afford a charitable gift, you can still help the clinic by minimizing reliance on unbillable services, providing at least 24 hours advance notice of appointment cancellations, keeping the clinic informed of any changes in insurance, and paying charges owed to the clinic .   Thank you for helping to ensure that West Denver Endocrinology will continue to meet the needs of the underserved.
