Building Babies' Brains

Our concept remains simple: to get new, quality, culturally relevant books into the homes of the youngest and most vulnerable in our community starting from birth so that their grown-ups can and want to read with their babies every day, during the most impactful time in their baby’s brain development (read the research here), setting the foundation for these children's success in school and later in life.

BUT (there’s often a but in nonprofit work)...READ’s biggest challenge remains ensuring all babies and young children in our community who need books have books. If READ were to serve every eligible baby and young child in Arlington, the number of children READ enrolled should be closer to 1,800…every year.

To ensure ALL eligible families have the books they need to read to their baby every day during this most important time, READ has focused on building relationships with NEW partners serving babies and young children to meet families in neutral environments.

Support READ in reaching ALL families.
