Hi!!! My name is Francesca Finzi, and I'm a sophomore at Horace Mann. I started as coxswain for my schools rowing team in the spring of my freshman year, and I've loved this sport everyday since. When my 9th grade biology teacher suggested I try coxing for the school team, I didn't know what to expect, but what I found was a passion. After my first regatta with my school team, I knew I wanted to pursue coxing, but at a more competitive and serious level. I reached out to CIR shortly after. Coming into my first summer season, my knowledge of the sport was about what you'd learn from reading a wikipedia page on it. Nonetheless, Guy, the captains, and every member of the City Island community embraced me, and took the time to show me the true sport. I could not be more thankful. The experiences and memories rowing has given me, in less than a year, have been among the best of my entire life, and I hope you'll think about supporting myself and my teammates on our journeys with this sport. 

On Sunday March 5th we will hold our annual capital equipment fundraiser, to pay for all the equipment that we use. This includes a new fleet of beautiful new racing shells that we've been using throughout this year. Our Hudson USP boats are unlike anything I've ever experienced before; incredibly sharp in the water, smooth, and lightweight, completely altering the experience of being on the water. 

These shells are an essential aspect of what is to come in spring season, and any donation toward making our success a reality is greatly, greatly appreciated. 

During the Ergathon, my teammates and I will complete a 90 minutes endurance piece on the rowing machine (erg), and your support will be in my mind, driving me, as I launch on the task.
