My daughter, Lydia, visiting my office at Civic.
I tell people all the time, that working for Civic Theatre of Allentown is the greatest privilege I have ever had. To get to be part of the arts fabric of Allentown in my own small way brings me so much joy and purpose. There is nothing quite like that opening night rush when the house lights go down, the audience buzzes with quiet anticipation and the music begins to play.
The truth of it all is, this theatre is nearly 100 years old. The upkeep, maintenance, and unexpected costs associated with being the stewards of this grand and beautiful venue exceed our annual revenue. As a theatre that believes in making live performances and programming affordable and accessible to our community, we refuse to push those rising maintenance costs onto our audiences.
So we are coming to you, our friends who believe in our mission, love our productions, and value our little corner of theatre magic. Please consider a gift to Civic Theatre. Help us keep the lights on and magic going for this season and decades to come. Your generosity means the world to us.
If you're interested in visiting Civic, taking a tour of our space and seeing the magic for yourself email me [email protected] I'd be happy to show you around. #weareallcivictheatre
