African Link Initiative: Two Students, One Journey of a Lifetime
Every child deserves to know where they come from. Every young person deserves the chance to stand on the soil of their ancestors and feel the powerful truth that they belong.
We invite you to help make that possible for two students, Lovan Mah and Paris Jada Williams-Zamor, who have never had the opportunity to travel to the continent that holds their roots.
Read More About Paris: Hi, my name is Paris. I’m a high school senior who’s always worked hard to create a bright future for myself and my community. I’m part of the Princeton University Preparatory Program, National Honor Society, African Link Initiative, and Rays of Hope, and more. As someone with African and Haitian roots, being able to go to Africa, learn from its community, and connect its culture to my current lifestyle would expand my understanding of my identity in a powerful way.
Read More About Lovan: Hello everyone, my name is Lovan. I’m a high school senior, and someone who loves connecting with people and giving back to my community. This Birthright Trip is meaningful to me because it represents reconnecting with my heritage, seeing the world through a wider lens, and stepping into the leader I hope to become. I dream of a future where I can uplift others just as I’ve been uplifted.
Our organization believes that cultural identity is a powerful part of personal growth. For many students, understanding their heritage becomes a turning point in how they see themselves and their futures. This program was created to deepen cultural awareness, spark pride, and open doors to deeper belonging.
This year, with your help, we will fund the travel, lodging, meals, and educational experiences for Paris and Lovan to journey across the continent and explore the history, culture, and communities that mirror their own. Their journey is more than a trip. It is restoration, identity, confidence, and connection.
Your support helps these young ladies experience Africa for the very first time. Your support helps them come home.
