Meet Alexandra:

Thank you for supporting me as I run the 2024 NYC Marathon alongside Therapists Beyond Borders!

As an occupational therapist for almost 6 years, I believe that therapists have a unique ability to use movement and engagement as a way to provide autonomy and empowerment to people in their most vulnerable stages of life. I began my running journey about 1 year ago during a vulnerable stage in my own life. Running has made me a better person, both personally and professionally. I want to be better for myself, my loved ones, and my patients all because of the discipline that running has taught me.

I am honored to represent TBB on a global stage at the 2024 NYC Marathon. Their mission to bring resources and training to therapists around the world deserves accolades!

Meet TBB:

Therapists Beyond Borders trains therapists, families, and caregivers of individuals with disabilities in under-resourced communities around the world. Disability legislation and rehabilitation programs are commonly under-resourced, especially in developing countries. As a result, millions of people who require therapy do not receive adequate treatment. Our goal: extend the privilege of advanced clinical training to therapists, families, and caregivers in countries with underfunded healthcare systems.

Our mission is to foster self-sustaining, locally run therapy education programs that build community capacity to provide skillful care for their most vulnerable members. Our vision is a world where individuals of all abilities can reach their own unique potential, and where all communities, despite the unequal distribution of global resources, still have the capacity to care for their own.
