Rowing is a true team sport, and we are learning hard work, dedication, and responsibility to others as part of this team. We began physical conditioning in November and have now hit the water to train as we enter the spring season, practicing 6 days a week for several hours a day. Besides forming friendships and sharing unforgettable memories, we are learning life lessons of leadership, teamwork, and commitment. Some of us may even continuing rowing in college.

In 2024, we enter our eighth season; our coaches, trainers, family, and supporters all pulling together really help us achieve our goals on and off the water. Colgan Crew is fully funded by membership dues and by the fundraising efforts of parents and students as part of the Colgan Crew Association, a 501(c) 3. Crew is an extremely costly sport, with year-round costs such as boat and equipment maintenance and storage, regatta entrance fees, and insurance making participation expensive. Fundraising helps keep the cost to individual families down as much as possible.

In addition to wreath sales and spirit nights to raise funds, we are reaching out to friends and family for support. We would be honored if you would contribute to help us achieve our goal of raising $11,000. Last year, we raised $11,655! You will receive a charitable donation receipt for your contribution. Your support will be used to purchase boats, oars, and coxswain communication devices that our budget can’t cover.

Colgan Crew is a club sport affiliated with Charles J. Colgan, Sr High School in Manassas, Virginia. Established in 2017 as a fully self-funded club-sport at Colgan High School, the Colgan Crew organization has grown to an amazing and talented co-ed group of 70+ rowers. With medals and local records, this promising young team needs your support to purchase oars, boats, launch motors and equipment.
