Since 2022 our EYE See Clinic as provided mobile vision clinics for students at Paschal Sherman Indian School, Nespelem, Keller, and Inchelium. We will continue to visit Colville Tribal community schools in the fall and spring of the 2024-2025 school year. We need your support for successful trips, so no child misses out on their needed eye exam or eyeglasses to help them to learn.

The Near Vision Institute brings eye exams and eyeglasses via a mobile clinic to schools throughout Washington State.

Near Vision Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to pioneer school optometry. We provide eye exams at schools through our in-classroom or trailer set up. Since 2022 we have visited more than 40 school districts serving over 4,000 children for eye exams and eyeglasses. Some of these children don’t have any insurance, not even Medicaid. School nurses are seeing the same children failing school vision screenings year after year without any solution. In many rural communities it is hard to find providers nearby, or appointments are not available for months out. By then, the school year is over and so much learning has been lost because the child can't see well. Our goal is to help schools identify school children most in need, provide these children with timely eye exams, dispense eyeglasses, nurture proper wearing of eyeglasses, and promptly replace eyeglasses when lost or broken. For communities like those on Colville Tribal lands, we need to return consistently enough to make necessary updates for growing children. Asking the local community for support is an ongoing need.

EYE Collage

With your donation, we are going to help more Colville kids in the next school year. We are planning at least two days of service for the 2024-2025 school year at PSIS, Nespelem, Keller, and Inchelium. We are working with the Omak and Nespelem Head Start programs. A mobile vision clinic is expensive to operate, and we need to collect at least $1500 per event day to bridge the gap between expenses and the revenues that can be collected through Medicaid plans and other insurances. Your Donation is Tax Deductible, and we will send you a receipt.

Donations to the Colville Tribal fund will be used exclusively for Colville area related mobile clinic expenses and providing Colville students with eye exams and eyeglasses.
